It’s been several months, but I’ve decided to randomly make another post. In the past few months of posting nothing, a fair bit has changed:

- I’m doing more work with the IT Support Dept at Captec
- I’ve started a little community project called http://flex-gaming.com
- My college work is almost complete (finally!)
- My theory will hopefully be getting back on track

We’ve also got a load of new people starting at work, complete with two ladies! I wonder how long they’ll all last…

If anyone’s reading this - HI HI HI!

Apparently someone was “nice” enough to spread the word of this fail of a blog around work. Whether this is good or not remains to be seen.

I might even start updating it again!

Adrian, you did it wrong.

I went on an RP server for the first time in a few years today, and to be honest, I was pretty bored. Nothing much was happening, and most of the players were in their own little worlds.

Now back in GMC, things were totally different. Everyone in the server was involved somehow. There was always something going on. Now that I look back, I can see why the other RP communities got so annoyed at GMC. What we had then wasn’t roleplay - It was basically a life simulation. You join as yourself and play as yourself. No background stories or anything.

I’m going to look at getting the 2006 version of SGPRP re-made for Gmod10, which should be interesting…

As promised, Game delivered Mass Effect right on time. The story is quite hard to get into, but that’s probably because I was expecting something closer to Knights of the Old Republic. Even so, it’s been quality so far.

HDD should be coming tomorrow as well, which’ll be good timing because Master Wattz wants his James Bond movies.

Turns out that the twatty motorist mentioned in the previous post was none other than my work mates, Tarson and Ginge. Ginge asked me whether I knew who it was, and proceeded to tell me it was them. Twats ;)

In an effort to start playing my 360 again, I’m looking at KVM switch boxes. Just about the only reason I haven’t been playing is the hassle of swapping over loads of cables to connect the 360 up. Saint’s Row 2 anyone? :D

Shooting it’s way to Captec on Friday is this external HDD enclosure. I’ve been looking at getting an external hard disk for a while, and I’ve finally settled on a decent enclosure and a good hard disk.

It’s an Enermax EB207S-S. Aluminium shell with bloody good cooling, SATAII support and a few other nice bits. It’ll be coupled with a Fujitsu 120GB SATAII HDD, so plenty of space for first-install clones of machines. While trying to clone a system at work, I found ghost would start freezing up - So I’m going to make this HDD bootable and chuck ghost on there. If systems can’t be cloned to the network, they can be cloned onto this THEN put on the network!

Coming home from work on my bike, I reach the street leading to my road, and there’s some twat behind me beeping his horn and shouting “hurry up, or I’ll run you over”. I had half a mind to stop my bike there, go to his car, pull him out and beat him to the floor, gangsta’ style. Then I remembered I’m a 19 year old IT Technician who’s last real fight was back in school, so I just ignored the twat and pedalled on. Anyone selfish enough to do this sort of thing should have their car permanently confiscated, with the driver being fined a couple of thousand for being the idiot they are.

Anyway, has anyone seen the snow (Hi Terri :P)? I’ve been getting a lift into work the past few days, mainly because the trains had ground to a halt, and also because cycling in 3 inches of snow is about as safe as going to Russia and shouting “CAPITALISM FTW LOL” in a squeaky voice. My manager’s handbrake turns in Captec’s carpark are impressive to say the least - the only problem is not being able to find any white lines…

Ordered Mass Effect too, I have it on good authority that it’s a great RPG. Cheers Rich P.

I downloaded the beta of Dawn of War II yesterday and to be honest, I
can’t say I’m impressed.

One of the things which made DoW I fun for me was how similar it was
to Age of Empires. Stockpile resources, build up a base and then send
your army of Space Marines / Orkz / Chaos cultist crazies into the
nearest Eldar encampment and blow the shit out of them. Pansies.

With DoW II it’s a little more focused on tactics and unit management,
which I think removes a whole area of gameplay. I’ll still wait for a
demo though.

In other n00ze, I’ve got my eye on Mass Effect for PC. Made by the
same guys who did Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect has a
different combat system, but I’m told it’s got a very in-depth story :D

Mood Music:

You don’t get ‘em like this anymore.

What crap weather it is at the moment. I even grabbed a lift from my manager because it was so crap.

Anyway, there’s not much happening. I overclocked my processor to 2.8 GHz which gave a little speed boost to Windows 7, and I’ve had to re-install Steam due to some stupid errors not letting me download stuff. Completed CoD4 too, so I expect I’ll get World at War this month :v

I’ve never really understood what appeals to people about writing blogs, but I think I’m starting to understand:

History and Information.

I tend to look back at the posts I make on forums just for the hell of it and to be honest, I’m looking forward to looking back this time next year and seeing what I got up to. Some things might be:

  • Passing driving test
  • Getting a girlfriend (pfft, when wolves fly on wings of chicken feathers :V)
  • Turning 20
  • Getting more involved with the networking and IT support side of Captec
  • Starting a new job (I sincerely hope not, but anything can happen)
  • Winning the lottery
  • Finally finishing my college course

And many more.

PS, this post brought to you by Written-The-Night-Before Blogging Services, Inc.

Popped down to Novatech today to return some faulty RAM, and we ended up getting a bit more than we expected:

That’s a Samsung SyncMaster SM-2053. My downstairs monitor has always been a problem, from the super dark screen to the large back meaning it can’t be positioned anywhere else but to the right of the desk. Neck problems ensue.

I also bumped the RAM in my main system to 4GB, making Windows 7 fly even more! Hooray!

Still haven’t gotten around to playing any games on it. I think I’ll put Knights of the Old Republic II on. I always loved that series, but slow machines meant I couldn’t enjoy the (then) amazing graphics.

The “Previous” button right at the bottom of the blog seems to be linking to the wrong page. I’ll fix that tomorrow.
